How the figure is worked out

The calculator spreads the equipment cost into equal monthly rentals over the term at an indicative 7.5% a year. Leases are quoted the way funders write them: 1 + 59 means one rental paid upfront followed by 59 monthly rentals (60 in total); 3 + 57 means three rentals upfront followed by 57. Paying three upfront lowers each rental slightly. UK leases are usually written in sterling by a UK funder. If the equipment will be used elsewhere in Europe, a local funder normally writes the lease in that country's currency; use the euro calculator for an indication.

Why quote a monthly figure?

For businesses

Keep cash and bank lines free, fix the cost for the term and pay for equipment from the income it earns.

For vendors

A monthly rental is an operating decision, not a capital project. Quoting it next to the price closes deals faster. How leasing increases sales.

Calculator FAQs

How is the monthly rental calculated?

The calculator spreads the equipment cost over the term at an indicative 7.5% a year, in equal monthly rentals. Choose a 1 + profile (one rental upfront, for example 1 + 59 over five years) or a 3 + profile (three rentals upfront, for example 3 + 57). Paying three upfront gives a slightly lower monthly rental.

What do 1 + 59 and 3 + 57 mean?

They are payment profiles. 1 + 59 means one rental is paid when the lease starts, followed by 59 monthly rentals: 60 in total over five years. 3 + 57 means three rentals upfront and 57 monthly. The same pattern applies to other terms, for example 1 + 35 or 3 + 33 over three years.

Is 7.5% the rate I will pay?

Not necessarily. 7.5% is a guide. Your firm rate depends on your trading history and accounts, the asset, the term and the funder. Because Oak Leasing compares 40+ funders, larger and well-documented deals are often priced below this guide.

What is the minimum and maximum deal size?

Oak Leasing typically arranges transactions from £100,000 to £10 million. Smaller deals from £10,000 are considered only within an established vendor programme. Large-asset refinance and sale and leaseback run up to €100 million per transaction.

Does using the calculator affect my credit file?

No. The calculator only does arithmetic in your browser. A credit check happens only if you ask for a firm quote and the funder assesses the deal.

Can I email the quote to myself?

Yes. Press “Email me this quote”, add your details and we will email the figures to you. A Funding Director will follow up only if you ask us to.
