Turning Future Lease Payments Into Cash Today

Lease receivables factoring, sometimes called lease receivables discounting, is the sale of a future stream of lease payments. If your business leases equipment to customers, you hold the right to collect rentals over the term of that lease. Instead of waiting months or years to collect, you sell that payment stream to a bank or finance company such as Oak Leasing's funding partners, at a discount, and receive the cash today.

The discount reflects two things: the time value of money, and the credit risk attached to your lessee. A strong corporate lessee on a short remaining term will typically achieve a smaller discount than a longer-dated lease to a weaker credit.

European Equipment leasing expertise really matters. Oak Leasing, arranging funding in Europe for 34 years

Why Vendors Do It

Selling receivables frees up capital that would otherwise sit locked in your lease book. It moves credit risk off your balance sheet onto the funder, and it means you can keep originating new leases without waiting on customer cash flow to catch up. For growing vendors, it converts a slow-moving asset into working capital that funds the next sale.

How It Typically Works

The finance company underwrites your lessee's credit standing, agrees a purchase price for the receivable, reflecting risk and time value of money, and buys the payment stream. From that point, the funder collects rentals directly, or via an agreed servicing arrangement, while you've already banked the proceeds.

In practice: a vendor leases a £40,000 machine to a customer on a five-year term. Rather than waiting five years to collect £40,000+ in rentals, the vendor sells that receivable to a funder for a discounted lump sum, freeing the capital to fund the next three machines out the door.
BUILT IN FROM THE START

Vendor Captive Leasing

Where receivables discounting sells a lease after the fact, a vendor captive leasing programme is built in from the start. Oak Leasing structures a dedicated finance facility that sits alongside your sales process, so every equipment sale can carry a finance option at the point of quote, without the receivable ever needing to sit on your own balance sheet.

Feature 01

Embedded at Point of Sale

Sales teams quote finance terms alongside the equipment price, turning a capital purchase decision into a manageable monthly or quarterly payment, improving close rates and average deal size.

Feature 02

Off Balance Sheet From Day One

Because the funder is engaged before the lease is written, not after, the vendor avoids carrying and later selling the receivables, simplifying accounting and freeing management time.

Feature 03

Consistent Underwriting Across Markets

A single captive structure can flex across Oak Leasing's 30+ country network, giving vendors a consistent finance offer wherever their customers and dealers are based.

FOR VENDORS WHO WANT THE ECONOMICS, NOT THE OVERHEAD

White Label Vendor Finance Programmes

Many vendors want the economics of a captive finance arm without building one. Oak Leasing's white label programmes let you offer “[Your Company] Finance” to customers — your branding, your contracts, your customer journey — while Oak Leasing arranges the programme and the funder handles credit underwriting, documentation and collections behind the scenes.

What Stays Yours

  • Brand name on all customer-facing paperwork
  • The sales relationship, start to finish
  • Account management tone and style
  • One seamless relationship in the customer's eyes

What Oak Leasing Handles

  • Presenting each deal for credit assessment to the right funder from a panel of 40+
  • Funder placement by geography, asset class and credit appetite
  • Documentation and multi-jurisdiction compliance
  • Receivables administration, running quietly in the background
Most items of equipment are acceptable, including all IT and software subscriptions, AV and media equipment, medical, scientific, robotics and renewables — the list is almost endless. Fees are typically paid by the funder on activation, rather than charged directly to the vendor, so a white label or captive programme can be structured without new fixed overhead.
FROM SCOPING TO FUNDING

How a Vendor Receivables Programme Comes Together

1

Programme scoping

We review your lease book or planned volumes, target markets, and whether receivables discounting, a captive facility, or a white label programme are the best fit.

2

Funder matching

Oak Leasing places the opportunity with the most suitable funder from our panel of 40+ relationships, by geography, asset class, and credit appetite.

3

Credit underwriting

The funder assesses lessee or portfolio credit quality, informing pricing and the discount applied to receivables.

4

Documentation & structuring

Contracts, disclosure terms, and for white label programmes, branded customer documentation are finalised across relevant jurisdictions.

5

Funding & ongoing administration

Cash is released against receivables or new leases as agreed, with collections and servicing running per the structure chosen.
